The village of Plagiari is located between Lakka, Aravissos and the foothills of Mount Paikos. In 1918, the villages of Mavrenovo, Babiani and Espelik formed the Spanish community. In 1920, the settlement of the Monastery of Panagia is annexed to it. In 1922 the community was abolished and its villages merged with the Asar-Wei community. In 1926, the Spanish is renamed Plagiari and now belongs to the community of Kallinitsa (Good). In 1928 the settlement was detached to join the village of Aravisos. In 1931 until 1997 it functions as a community. Then, with the Kapodistrias Reform, it is abolished and it is included in the Kyrkos Municipality.
The inhabitants of the village are refugees from Plagiari (Bulair), Medea and the Orpheus of Calipolis in Eastern Thrace. In the place was the Ottoman village of Esperlik, meaning the place of Spyros. After the Lausanne Treaty, the Muslim inhabitants of the region migrated to Turkey and Christians from Plagiari, Kallipolis to Pella. Other refugee groups lived at Plagiari in Thessaloniki, in Kardia and Agia Paraskevi. In the village today there are also families of Vlachs from Vlasti Kozani and Megala Livadia. The inhabitants are mainly engaged in agriculture (peach and tobacco). Floral crops such as rose petals have also been organized. The Cultural Association “Hope” operates in Plagiari. The pre-war houses were stone, low with small pens within the village for eco-livestock. The system of water supply was special. The three wells, 6 meters deep, each one of them joined together and supplied the village fountains with water. Many residents were limestone due to the abundant limestone of Paikos

Our staff will wear a face covering inside the taxis and all private-hired cars for the duration of your journey. Our driver will use hand satinizer before and after any transaction or contact with your luggage etc. In Greece, it is the law that you must wear either a face covering or face mask even if you are vaccinated inside the taxis or private hired cars. Exemptions include people who have medical issues (trouble breathing, unability to wear a mask properly etc), children under the age of three (3) or you have any other legitamate reason not to – however please note that proof maybe requested by local authorities. Our drivers treat everyone with respect and compassion and understand if it is not immediately obvious that some people are not able to wear face covering for medical reasons.

From Wednesday 1st of June 2022 and after, Greek state decided and it is the law now that:
– Masks are NOT mandatory anymore INDOORS. This means that you DON’T have to wear a facemask anymore, if you want to visit a coffee shop, a restaurant, a beach bar, a shop, hotel or supermarket.
– You MUST wear a mask, if you visit the following places: public hospital, pharmacy, private clinic, doctor’s office, medical centre, retirement and nursing home. You must also wear a mask, when using public transportation (public bus, taxi, chauffeurred-driven vehicles etc)
