The Polykastro is a town of Kilkis in Central Macedonia , with 7.064 inhabitants and the capital of Paeonia Municipality . It is the second largest city in the prefecture of Kilkis and is built on the Old National Road of Thessaloniki – Evzones and next to the Axios river .
