About Nea Skioni
A seaside tourist settlement stretching along its sandy coastline in the southern part of the peninsula of Kassandra. At the port of Nea Skioni, with the coastal pedestrian street, there are boats, fishing boats and excursion boats. The settlement owes its name to the ancient Skionis, which was founded according to the ancient tradition of Acheia from Acheia after the Trojan War. During the 8th c. B.C. the city was also colonized by Euboes. Skionis joined the Peloponnesian War in the Lacedaemonians and was reabsorbed by the Athenians, and he flourished during the Roman Period. In the areas of Agios Ioannis Skionis and Anemis, modern holiday complexes and country houses stretch along the coast. Skioni has 889 inhabitants. It is 78 km away from Polygyros .
